Self Evaluation

Perspective Self Evaluation

How does Perspective help you Self Evaluate?

Perspective promotes and maintains continuous interaction between self review and improvement planning so you can identify issues quickly and easily, and make sure that plans are focussed on key priorities, real improvement and impact.

Perspective Process

  • Aligned with Ofsted – Perspective is always aligned to the latest Ofsted frameworks (for schools this is January 2012 and Children’s Centres, October 2011) so you know that you are working on the most up to date version.
  • Rapid Reviews – The Perspective ‘Ready Reckoner Tool’ allows a school, Centre, or a team/department to self review quickly and robustly at a top level, and then access greater depth in the areas that are important to you.
  • Granular Self Review - Perspective breaks down self evaluation into lots of little steps, each with their own criteria and standards.
  • Guidance – Perspective uniquely provides guidance written by an expert panel including Ofsted Inspectors and Leading Leaders to provide a scaffold of support when addressing sections of the self review process, and making sure you are focussing on the areas which Ofsted would analyse and those which will see the greatest chance for improvement across the school.
  • Benchmarking and Standardising Performance - Perspective makes it possible for leaders to direct personnel toward specific areas of self review that should be focussed on.
  • “We have found that having the self evaluation, planning tools and questionnaires together has made the process of whole school evaluation more focused and on a central programme. The bite size questions are fantastic. I feel confident that I have covered all possible Ofsted questions. I have already recommended Perspective to several of my collegues and would be very happy to recommend it in the future.”

  • Reducing Variation by Modelling - Judgements become uniform across your team as the modelling statements in Perspective make sure everyone is clear ‘what good looks like’.
  • Collaboration and Communication – Perspective is built to allow teams to pool their thoughts/ideas and then collate into a cohesive review. Findings are then visible to leaders, meaning that you are reviewing with the best evidence available, and decisions made are robust.
  • Evidence and Document Storage – Perspective provides a secure, central storage area for all relevant documents and evidence. You can update this at anytime from anywhere. Perspective is ‘data agnostic’ so you can store the outputs of any MIS, files of any types such as media or sound, as well as standard files like word and excel documents.
  • Compiling Evidence – When self-reviewing, Perspective stores evidence against the relevant review area so you are able to quickly reference the evidence which brought you to your conclusions in the first place.
  • Clear Link from Review to Plan – As you identify areas for improvement in Perspective, you can create targets which can be added to improvement plans. These targets are linked to the self review process so that as improvements are made, you can quickly re-evaluate.
  • Devolved Planning from Leaders – Targets created by leaders can be quickly cascaded down to other teams. This maintains the link between whole-establishment and team priorities but allows middle leaders the flexibility to create their own method of achieving the targets.
  • Monitoring Improvement – Perspective’s planning system allows leaders to ‘drill’ into targets to answer the key questions of “What”, “Who”,” When” for each activity.
  • Accountable Delegation – Perspective’s planning system means that leaders are able to direct staff to do the tasks which need doing and keep a record of them.
  • Succession Planning – As leaders complete the self review process, it stores both their conclusions and their thoughts/evidence that brought them to this conclusion. This can prove invaluable to newly promoted staff.

Is self evaluation or an inspection one of your priorities?

If it is, then talk to us. We think that Perspective has a role to play in any establishment achieving or maintaining its outstanding status, as well as supporting its internal processes, whether it be self evaluation or any other aspect of improvement. Therefore we would like to talk to you about how we could tailor Perspective to your specific needs.

Our team of educationalists want to discuss your particular requirements, explain more about our software, share our experience of working with senior leaders up and down the country, and then demonstrate how we work in partnership with you to create an implementation plan that drives out the goals you want to achieve.
