Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Manager to lead and deliver projects across cross-functional teams. This role requires someone with strong experience in digital project management, excellent stakeholder engagement, and proven experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack. You’ll be part of a small team and will oversee full project lifecycles, ensure process consistency, and support team collaboration in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Delivery
- Lead the successful delivery of multiple digital projects, ensuring they meet time, scope, and requirements.
- Define project objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and product roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring efficient execution and clear visibility of progress and priorities.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to support team collaboration and delivery
- Organise key processes such as Bug Review sessions and technical demos, ensuring they are scheduled, recorded, and followed up with feedback collection to support quality and stakeholder engagement.
- Use sprint metrics (e.g., velocity, carryover) to inform sprint planning and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure all prioritised Jira tasks have appropriate time estimates and that timesheets are completed accurately to support resource planning, reporting, and project tracking.
- Encourage meaningful updates during stand-ups, follow up on blockers, and ensure tasks are accurately reflected in the sprint board.
- Proactively identify and manage risks and dependencies, escalating unresolved or complex issues to the Project Management Lead as appropriate
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring smooth communication and alignment between stakeholders, product owners, and development teams.
- Work closely with the Product and Development teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood, well-scoped, and ready for technical implementation.
- Attend the office regularly (typically Tuesdays and Thursdays) to support effective collaboration.
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams, including development, QA, design, and data, to deliver complex or multi-faceted projects.
- Ensure visibility of shared dependencies, timelines, and blockers across teams when relevant.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and informal mentoring to Project Managers working on the same or related projects.
- Work with leadership to allocate resources effectively across projects.
Tooling & Process Alignment
- Ensure effective use of Jira, Confluence, Slack, and scheduling tools such as Outlook within assigned projects, contributing ideas and suggestions to improve usage across the team.
- Ensure standard operating procedures (e.g., release checklists, documentation, stakeholder inclusion) are consistently followed within assigned projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of these processes in collaboration with the Project Management Lead.
