New Year News!

It’s been an extremely productive yet fun-filled first week back at Angel Solutions, including new additions to the team, an Angel afternoon out, and welcoming back some young entrepreneurs to share our office space!

Kick-starting with Innovation

As well as our fun team building activities, the Angel team always use the first week of January for cross-team workshops, focusing on various business priorities, upcoming projects, new innovative ideas, and how we can improve processes like recruitment and data processing. The only difference about this year was that with our expanded team, these gatherings were more creative and exciting than ever before!

Here are just a few of the topics we looked at:

  • Hiring and welcoming new staff
  • BIG data
  • Communications
  • Product development
  • Staff training and qualifications

Loads of new ideas came out of these meetings and many are already being implemented — watch this space for even more upcoming innovations in 2016!

Welcome Interns!

We have been pleased to welcome two fab new interns who will be working with us throughout January 2016. After the success of previous internships, Angel Solutions have given these two Liverpool John Moores graduates the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain valuable work experience within our ever-expanding company.

Having a ball: Drama and English graduate, Beth Garner, and Cyber Security graduate, Michael Brocklehurst, enjoying our unique office space.

Beth will be assisting with our Marketing department and investigating some potential changes to our recruitment process. Michael is working on some innovative data projects alongside our Innovation Lead, John Winstanley. We’re excited to have them with us and they’re already proving to be valuable assets to our team.

The Breakout challenge

To kick-start the New Year and get our brains thinking, the Angel team challenged themselves with some escape room antics at Breakout Liverpool, a live game where you have an hour to solve a series of puzzles and mysteries to escape. It served as a great team building exercise and chance to refuel after the Christmas break, as well as an opportunity for our new interns to properly meet and mix with the team.

A successful breakout!

Mission accomplished: Two of our teams broke out!

They nearly broke out

So close: Others couldn’t crack the codes quick enough

Social Media and Marketing intern Beth Garner said:

Breakout was a great opportunity to work our brains and socialise with the team and really showed what Angel is all about: creativity, innovation and teamwork. I doubt I’d get to do something like this in an internship elsewhere!

Encouraging Young Enterprise

It’s not every day that 16-year-old entrepreneurs are given office space to launch their own company, but Angel Solutions have been able to offer two lucky students that unique opportunity.

Adam and Jordan, students from The Studio School in Liverpool are currently sharing our office space for one day per week to work on launching an exciting new project. They are building a new social network called Hive, which we can’t wait to use after launch!

Students sharing our office space

Happy to do business: Students Adam and Jordan

Hive is a social network for the modern web that aims to provide security, freedom and openness. It is a more fluid alternative to other social networks such as Facebook, including secure messaging and a better design.”
— Adam

The guys have been here for just over a month and were eager to share the top three benefits they see from working in our circus-themed office:

  1. The calm working environment that encourages creativity
  2. Access to valuable equipment and resources
  3. Freedom to run their own project (as well as free tea!)
